Director of Lifespan Religious Education (DLRE)

Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church seeks a Director of Lifespan Religious Education (DLRE). With 300+ adult members, 100+ kids and youth, and a wide circle of friends in the community, SMUUCh is seeking someone who will share a passion for lifelong learning and spiritual growth with our dynamic congregation and staff team.  

Questions are welcome anytime over the summer, applications will be accepted September 1-October 9th. Job starts January, 2020!

The DLRE is responsible for the overall development and implementation of a religious education ministry for children, youth, and adults that fosters and promotes Unitarian Universalist values, spiritual growth, social justice, and community engagement. They will support multigenerational community within the congregation as a whole and communicate a compelling vision for the future of lifespan faith development. The DLRE will work collaboratively with the Lead Minister to make the vision and mission of the congregation come alive: to live with integrity, nurture curiosity, and inspire action.

The DLRE will supervise a staff team that includes paid Sunday teachers, a kids club coordinator, a youth coordinator, and a team of volunteers.
