Music in Our Church

Music is an integral part of the spiritual experience at Shawnee Mission UU Church. Our musical selections are derived from a vast arrray of traditional through contemporary sources and includie ethnic and folk music as well.

Sunday Services are enhanced by the performances of the SMUUCh Choraliers who come from widely diverse backgrounds. We welcome everyone from novices to trained vocalists. Our youngest members belong to the SMUUCh Children's Choir. Our Choraliers are accompanied by pianist Jan Leisenring who also performs spiritually emotive solo musical interludes during Sunday Services.

We are also blessed with the talents of many other vocal and  instrumental member-musicians who perform as soloists or in small ensemble groups. The SMUUCh Brass Ensemble has become a favorite of the congregation.
