Unlike many other sexuality curricula, such as those found in the schools, OWLS for middle school youth is an especially comprehensive and progressive program. In an inclusive and developmentally appropriate manner, it addresses many sensitive topics that are typically excluded.
This program is held in partnership with All Souls UU Church of Kansas City. Youth who are in grades seven through nine are eligible to participate. The class size is limited and priority will be given to older students as enrollments are received.
All of our Volunteer Teachers have received extensive training for this class. This 8-week program includes classes that take place Sunday afternoons as well as two overnights. The program begins with a mandatory parent orientation. Dinner will be available for purchase at the SMUUCh orientation. All legal parents or guardians must participate in one of either of the orientations.

This class requires a fairly significant commitment from its participants - only one absence is permitted. This program is offered every other year in even-numbered years. Questions? Please contact Rachel Wathen.
