August 2017 Back-to-School Granola Bar Drive

We will be collecting granola bars during the month of August as part of our partnership with Rosehill Elementary School. Rosehill has one of the lowest income levels in the Shawnee Mission School District and serves a diverse student body. The granola bars are used for at-risk children in the after-school program and also to help kids who come to school hungry.

Our very first Donate-the-Plate in our new building was designated for this program, and we raised enough money to supply granola bars to the school for three years. With that fund now depleted, our goal is to provide the same support though generous donations from church members.

Rosehill can use granola bars of all types, and they also request Nutri-Grain bars for those children with peanut and nut allergies. There will be a table in Fellowship Hall each Sunday to accept donations. You can also donate money and we will shop for you! A hungry child is a child who cannot learn — please consider donating generously.
